Description
This is a dovecote located about 90 metres north-east of Bretforton Grange. It is likely from the 15th century, with some alterations made in the mid-19th century. The structure is built from coursed lias rubble and features a tile roof with a rectangular plan. The entrance on the east side has a square head and a chamfered surround, which is currently blocked. There is a 19th-century entrance on the west side with a brick segmental head. The roof is gablet in form, and the gables likely originally served as entrances for birds. Inside, the trusses have arch-braced collars with clasped purlins. There are 19 rows of nesting boxes, with an alighting ledge provided for every third row. An additional floor has been inserted within the dovecote.
