Description
The Victoria Arms is a house that has been converted into a public house. It dates from the 17th century, with some alterations made in the mid-19th century and mid-20th century. The building features a timber-frame structure with rendered infill and a machine tile roof, along with some additions of roughcast brickwork. It has a T-plan layout, with a front range that consists of two bays and a stack located at the west gable, and a rear service range.
The south front of the building is one storey high with an attic, which is lit by two 2-light casements set in timber-framed gables. The ground floor includes a 12-light square bay window topped with a flat roof. The framing consists of three square panels high, supported by straight angle braces, and the wall-plate slightly projects with ovolo moulding. Inside, the building features exposed chamfered and stopped ceiling beams, as well as a large inglenook fireplace.
