Description
This barn, located approximately 10 metres west of Hawstead House, dates from around 1800 and has been altered in the early and mid-20th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble and features a stone slate roof. The east wall has a central entrance with plain reveals, which is now filled with 20th-century weatherboarding above the garage doors. To the left of the entrance, there are ventilation slits, and to the right, there is a break in the roofline. An iron weathervane sits at the south end of the ridge. Attached to the south gable wall is a lower open projection with a hipped end supported by square stone piers. Inside, the truss at the southern end of the barn is made of sawn softwood. This barn is included for its group value.
