Description

Avondale is a house dating from the 18th century, likely the mid to late 18th century, located on Bridge Street, Pershore. The house is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern and has a Welsh slate roof with painted brick dentilled eaves and a brick end stack on the right. The exterior features three storeys and originally had three windows on the first floor, though the outer two are now blocked. The central window retains a 6/6 sash window within a rubbed brick surround and painted sill under a flat, gauged brick arch. A heavily-moulded plat band runs across the facade. There are two boxed 6/6 sash windows on the second floor, also with painted sills. The ground floor has a single 8/8 sash window with a flat, gauged brick arch and painted sill, also with a plat band above. To the left is a doorcase with a moulded surround, enclosing an overlight and a renewed 6-panel door, accessed by three stone steps with nosings. A moulded painted plinth is also present. The interior of the building was not inspected as part of the listing process.
