Description

Little Grange is a house dating from the early 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. It features a timber-framed structure with painted brick and rendered infill, and the front elevation has brick walling painted to resemble timber-framing. The roof is plain tiled. The house consists of two framed bays aligned east to west and has a large external brick chimney with a lean-to bread oven, offsets, and a rebuilt detached stack at the west gable end. It is a single storey with an attic that includes dormers.

The framing consists of two panels from the sill to the wall-plate, with the east bay featuring long straight braces in the lower corner at the rear. The gable ends have collar and tie-beam trusses with two struts to the collar.

On the south front elevation, there are two ground-floor windows, both with cambered heads, and above them are two gabled dormers with bargeboards and finials. All windows are two-light casements. The entrance is located to the left of centre and features a gabled brick porch with scalloped bargeboards, a finial with a moulded pendant, and a ledged and battened door with a cambered head. There is a 19th-century chimney on the right side of the front roof pitch. The gable ends have bargeboards, a finial on the west side, and attic lights.

Inside, there is a winder staircase located in the west bay.
