Description
Greensleeves is a house dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and restoration in the mid-20th century. It is timber-framed with rendered infill and has a plain tiled roof. The house has two framed bays aligned roughly north to south and features a large external chimney at the south gable end, which includes a bread oven, tiled offsets, and a pair of 19th-century star-shaped stacks. The building is two storeys high and has scalloped bargeboards and finials at the gable ends.
The framing consists of four panels from the sill to the wall-plate, with very long straight braces across the lower corners, and collar and tie-beam trusses with two struts. The west front elevation has 20th-century casements, two 2-light windows on the ground and first floors, and a central 20th-century gabled porch with a stable door and rectangular lights on each side. Inside, the wall-framing is mostly intact, and there is a large fireplace at the south end with a blocked bread oven. The altered 19th-century rear wing and the rear 20th-century additions are not included in this description.
