Description
The Old House is a house dating from the early 18th century, with extensions made in the late 19th century. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and has a tiled roof, featuring gable-end stacks on the original part of the house. The building is two storeys high and includes a dentilled brick cornice, a brick band, and ashlar quoins, with a lias plinth at the center. The structure has been extended on both sides, maintaining the dentilled brick cornice. The windows consist of a configuration of 1 + 3 + 1 timber cross-windows on the upper floor, while the ground floor features 1 + 2 + 1 windows, with the central windows having cambered heads. The central entrance is marked by a 20th-century gabled rustic porch, which includes a wooden architrave beneath a segmental head, leading to a 18th-century ledged and boarded door.
