Description

The Manor House and Aldington Court are two houses, likely from the 17th century, which were remodeled in the early 19th century. They are constructed of ashlar and stucco on stone, topped with hipped slate roofs. Aldington Court is attached to the north side of the Manor House.

The Manor House features a Greco-Cubic style in a U-plan layout, with stacks on the side walls. Its west front has two storeys and a window arrangement of 2 + 1 + 2. The wings have plain pilasters, with a 16-pane sash window in the center and glazing bar sashes on the others. The entrance is marked by a portico that fills the recess, supported by Doric columns, and features a parapet with a ball finial. Above the four-panel door, there is an overlight flanked by two fixed casements.

Aldington Court has a lobby entrance against the central stack and also has two storeys with boarded eaves. It features three windows, all glazing bar sashes. On the ground floor to the left, there is a 4-light casement in a moulded wooden frame, and to the right, a 16-pane sash. The porch has a gabled roof treated as an open pediment, supported by plain pilasters below, and includes a plain fanlight above a 20th-century panelled door. The stonework is exposed on the left-hand (north) return front. Aldington Court appears to have served as the service wing of the Manor House after it was built.
