Description
The Nook is a house dating from the late 17th century that was restored in the late 20th century. It features a timber frame with rendered infill and a plain tiled roof. The building consists of three framed bays arranged in a north/south direction and has two storeys. The framing includes two and three panels from the sill to the wall-plate, and a tie-beam truss with two struts at the south gable end, while the north gable end has been rebuilt. Most of the windows are 20th-century casements. On the west entrance elevation, the ground floor has two 2-light windows, a 20th-century door in the right end bay, and a 19th-century chimney at the rear right. Inside, the house retains its rear wall-framing, a winder staircase, and a remodelled open fireplace. There is a 20th-century extension at the rear that is not of special architectural interest.
