Description
Brickley Farmhouse is a pair of farm cottages, now a house, built around 1770 with alterations made in the mid-19th century and mid-20th century. The building is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a plain tiled roof. It has a square plan consisting of two bays and a two-span roof, with a central chimney that has a group of four 19th-century diagonal shafts. The house is single storey with an attic, and there is a two-course band between the storeys and at the eaves level.
The north-west front elevation includes three-light casement windows with stone sills and lintels, while the attic windows interrupt the eaves band. The main entrance, located on the north-east elevation, features a 20th-century doorcase with engaged columns, an open pediment, and a panelled door.
Inside, the overall plan of the cottages has been retained, although there are 19th and 20th-century extensions at the rear. The house is part of a group with the nearby granary.
