Description

This is an early to mid-19th century brick building with a stuccoed front, located at 14 and 14A Port Street. It is two storeys high and has four casement windows, each set within a moulded architrave with dog-eared angles. A plain pilaster doorcase is on the left-hand side, topped by a rectangular fanlight, in turn surmounted by a semi-circular head with a keyblock and radial fanlight. The eaves are decorated with modillion detailing, and the roof is covered with slate and hipped. A projecting bay on the ground storey features a cornice and open balustrade, with modern shop fronts inserted. The building is included in the listing for its group value, alongside numbers 6 to 14 (even) and 14A.
