Description

Workman Bridge, built in 1856, spans the River Avon and is located on the south side of Bridge Street. It was constructed by Henry Workman, a notable public figure and former mayor, to replace a medieval bridge. The bridge features coursed rubble and has three segmental arches supported by stone voussoirs. It is adorned with a modillion cornice and open balustraded parapets. At the time of the survey in 1976, the bridge was undergoing restoration.
