Description

This chest tomb, located about 6 yards southeast of the Church of St John the Baptist, dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of sandstone ashlar. It features Gothic detailing, including a moulded base and flat capping. The tomb is adorned with corner and central side pilasters that have cusped, pointed-arched panels. The inscription panels have moulded edges, although the inscriptions themselves are eroded. This tomb is included for its group value.
