Description
Avoncroft Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century, with an attached 17th-century house, and some alterations made in the mid-20th century. The building is constructed of rendered brick and features a hipped slate roof, along with coursed rubble and a tiled roof.
The 18th-century section has stacks on the side walls and rises to three storeys. It is quoined and has a modillioned cornice above a plain parapet. There are three windows on the front: two 16-pane boxed sashes flank a glazing bar sash, all set beneath plaster wedge lintels with keystones. The second floor contains 12-pane and 9-pane sashes. The central entrance features a pilastered wooden doorcase with an open pediment, a fanlight, and a half-glazed door.
To the right is the 17th-century house, which is one storey with an attic that is lit by a gabled dormer. The ground floor has a casement window under a square label to the right, with an entrance to the left.
