Description
39 High Street is a house that has been converted into offices. It dates from the mid to late 18th century and has undergone some alterations. The building is constructed of red brick, with some yellow brick, arranged in Flemish bond. It features an old plain tile roof with brick dogtooth eaves and short brick stacks at the ends.
The exterior consists of three storeys and a two-window range, with a rear wing. The windows on the first floor are 6/6 sashes, while the smaller windows above are 3/6 sashes. All windows have painted sills and unpainted gauged-brick flat arches. On the ground floor, there is a fascia with a leaded cornice, two canted shopfront bay-windows with 20th-century plate-glazing, and a central 20th-century glazed door that is accessed by four stone steps. The building has a brick plinth, and the right return is stuccoed. The rear wing is painted and has an old tile roof with brick dentilled eaves. The interior has not been inspected.
