Description
This is a terrace of four houses, originally numbered 4 to 10, located on The Moors in Worcester. The houses date to the early 19th century, with later alterations. They are constructed of reddish-brown brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a hipped slate roof and brick party-wall stacks featuring oversailing courses and decorative pots.
The houses are three storeys high and have a facade with a 3:1:1:1 window arrangement on the first floor. The ground and first floors feature 8/8 sash windows, while the second floor has 4/4 sash windows. All windows are set in plain reveals with gauged brick arches and sills.
The entrances are centrally located, then paired, and finally to the right. The central entrance, leading to the leftmost house, has two steps up to a six-panel door with a fanlight composed of radial glazing bars, set within a pilastered surround and protected by a porch with fluted pilasters and a hood. The remaining entrances feature six-panel doors with fanlights containing radial glazing bars, all within pilastered surrounds topped with a frieze and cornice, and these surrounds are shared between pairs of houses.
The left return side of the terrace has a blind, painted sash window, along with 8/8 sashes. The rear elevation retains original 8/8 sash windows. The interiors have not been inspected. The terrace forms a group with the even-numbered houses of Severn Terrace.
