Description
This is a house located at 22 Britannia Square, built around 1820 with later additions and alterations. It features painted stucco over brick and a hipped slate roof. There is a single-storey entrance wing set back to the south with a slate roof and a coped gable wall. The tall, narrow facade has three storeys and one first-floor window. The stucco detailing includes narrow fluted architraves, and there are 8/8 flush sash windows, all with sills. The entrance door is a renewed six-panel design with a fanlight featuring a petal pattern.
The listed buildings in Britannia Square form a cohesive group, initiated in 1820 and arranged around a large green where the main house, 'Springfield', is situated. This development is comparable to other similar, though smaller, projects in Worcester, such as Lansdowne Crescent, Lark Hill, and Rainbow Hill Terrace.
