Description
No. 27 St Johns is a terraced house that now features a shop on the ground floor. It was originally built in the 17th century but underwent a late 18th-century refronting, along with later additions and alterations. The facade is made of red and brown brick, while the left side has a timber frame with painted-brick infill panels. The roof is covered with plain clay tiles, hipped to the left, and has dentilled eaves. There is a stack on the right front roof slope with oversailing detail and pots. The building has a square double-depth plan and stands two storeys tall. On the first floor, there are two windows with 8/8 sashes and near-flush frames. The shopfront dates from the mid to late 20th century. The left return features square framing that is four panels high, with little remaining of the framing below the mid-rail. The interior has not been inspected.
