Description
Comberton House is a farmhouse, later converted into a house, dating from around 1803, with additions and alterations made in the late 19th century. It is constructed of stucco over brick, with a double-pitch roof covered in plain tiles. Tall brick stacks are present at the ends, featuring oversailing courses and decorative pots.
The house has two storeys and three windows on the first floor. The first floor windows are 6/6 flush sashes, with sills. The ground floor features a central entrance with a 6-panel door; the lower panels are flush, and the upper four are raised and fielded. Two canted bays flank either side of the entrance, each containing 4/4 sashes between 2/2 horned sashes, with colonnettes and a decorative frieze. The rear of the house has 6/6 sashes and a modillion eaves band.
The interior features a dogleg staircase with stick balusters, board doors and some 4-panel doors, and beams to the ceilings.
The house forms a group with numbers 103, 105, 107 and 109 on Bransford Road.
