Description
This stable, located about 15 yards south of Bine Farmhouse, dates back to the 17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame, featuring brick infill and a sandstone rubble gable end wall, along with a brick plinth and a plain tiled roof. The stable consists of one framed bay that is aligned east to west and has two levels. The framing includes three panels from the sill to the wall-plate, a collar and tie-beam truss at the west gable end, with four struts located below the collar and one above. There is a stable door on the north elevation and a loft opening in the west gable end. This structure is the surviving west bay of a barn and stable range that was partly destroyed by fire in the mid-20th century. It is positioned on the south side of the farmyard, facing Bine Farmhouse.
