Description

Yew Tree Cottage is a 16th century house that features a timber frame with red-brick herringbone infill. It has a plain tile roof, with an outside stack at the west end and a ridge stack on the rear range. The building is designed in an L shape and has two storeys. The heavy close-studded timber-framing is prominent on the south front, which includes three small modern windows on the first floor, a central door, and four-light casement windows on either side at ground level. The rear wing, dating from the 17th century, is square-framed and partially brick. It has casement windows, with two 2-light windows above and a combination of 2-light and 3-light windows below. There is also a modern addition in the northwest rear angle.
