Description

The Dairy is a late 18th or early 19th century house, with an adjoining butcher’s shop complex dating from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick with tiled roofs. The house has a basement and two storeys with gable-lit attics, displaying raised verges and unusual brick bonding. It features a modillion eaves cornice and 19th-century glazing bar casements, with cambered brick lintels. Two windows frame the central entrance, which has a four-panelled door and a gabled porch supported by wooden brackets. A blind panel is positioned in the centre of the first floor.

The adjoining single-storey shop has a cogged brick eaves cornice. It contains a two-light glazing bar casement to the right, a central door, and a second door to the left. Inside the shop complex, some original fittings remain. The slaughterhouse retains a working wooden winching mechanism, complete with a wheel, rope, and hooks.
