Description

This listing describes five gas street lamps, all of which feature tapering Windsor lanterns supported by four scrolled brackets. Each lamp is mounted on a distinct column design.

The first lamp, located at NGR SO7790746992, has a barley-twist column above a moulded, studded ring. The lower part of the column is octagonal with a foliate base, and the ladder rest includes twisted arms and moulded finials. This lamp was made by Dutton and Co. of Worcester, and its plinth bears the founder's mark.

The second lamp, at NGR SO7800747038, shares similar features with the first but has one missing arm on the ladder rest. It also has a barley-twist column and is made by Dutton and Co. of Worcester, with the plinth cast with the founder's mark.

The third lamp, found at NGR SO7807547049, is identical in design to the first two, featuring a barley-twist column, moulded, studded ring, and a ladder rest with twisted arms and moulded finials. It was also produced by Dutton and Co. of Worcester, with the founder's mark on the plinth.

The fourth lamp, located at NGR SO7813747079, has a tapering octagonal column with a heavily-moulded, octagonal ring. Its base is octagonal with chamfered and stepped stops, and the ladder rest has octagonal arms with octagonal knop finials. This lamp was made by The Horseley Company of Tipton, and its plinth is marked with the founder's mark.

The fifth lamp, at NGR SO7817247099, features a tapering circular column with a capital decorated with a foliate design in relief. It has a baluster-shaped base with similar foliate decoration, set on a circular plinth with a moulded top and reeded foot. The ladder rest is elaborately moulded with pierced arms.
