Description

This boundary post, located on Moorlands Road in Great Malvern, dates from the mid-19th century. It is made of cast iron and features a rounded top. The relief lettering on the post reads "CLERKENWELL/1866/Wm. GILLINGWATER/FRED. Wm. WILLCOCKS/CHURCH/WARDENS." This post is part of a group of boundary markers that were erected to define the Clerkenwell estate, which was gifted to the poor of the parish of Clerkenwell in London by Sir George Strode in the mid-17th century.
