Description
The fire engine shed, located about 25 yards south of the Church of St Mary, was built in 1858. It is constructed of brick and features slate roofs with a brick ridge stack at the west end. The building has a rectangular two-bay plan and is a single storey. The east gable end showcases moulded scalloped bargeboards, a four-centred archway, and double doors adorned with ornate strap hinges. The date "1858" is inscribed in the apex of the west gable. There is a lean-to outshut on the north side, which has a ledged and battened door in its east elevation, connecting the main shed to a smaller, narrower parallel range. This smaller range includes a two-centred archway with a ledged and battened door at its east end.
