Description
46-48 Teme Street is a shop and offices built in the early 19th century, with alterations made in the mid to late 19th century and mid-20th century. The building features finely jointed brick and a shallow-pitched slate roof that is topped with an ashlar parapet. There is a brick stack located at the left end and at the rear of the structure.
The building stands two storeys high and has a moulded eaves cornice. It consists of five bays, with windows that have gauged flat heads and all are 12-pane sashes. Notably, the ground floor window in the fourth bay has had its lower sash removed and replaced with plate glass. The shop front, which dates from the 19th century, has a simple design with plain pilasters and occupies the first three bays of the ground floor. To the left, there is an 8-pane window, and to the right, a 20th-century door is set within a recessed section of the wall.
