Description
The Priory Church of St Mary and St Michael is a significant Norman and Perpendicular style church, originally part of a Benedictine Priory founded around 1085. It is recognized as one of the more important greater parish churches, notable for its rich collection of medieval glass, tiles, and monuments. The church underwent restoration by Sir George Gilbert Scott between 1860 and 1861.
