Description

The Ruby is a late 18th-century house located on Wells Road. It is a three-storey building rendered in stucco, featuring a dentil eaves cornice and a tile roof. The building has two windows on the front elevation, with the upper windows breaking the eaves. A three-light, two-storey semi-circular bow window projects to the right. The windows are hung sashes with glazing bars. A projecting, square-headed porch with a chamfered door opening is also present. According to local tradition, the house was built by a descendant of Admiral Bembow.
