Description

This chest tomb, located about 12 yards south-east of the Church of St Lawrence, dates from the early 19th century. It is made of ashlar stone and features a moulded plinth and capping. The tomb has fluted corner balusters adorned with an acanthus frieze on their bases. The shaped inscription panels are decorated with corner rosettes and pendant husk trails along the side borders. The north inscription panel commemorates James ?, who died in 1805, and Sarah Evans, who died in 1803. The other inscription panels are illegible.
