Description
Moorend Farmhouse and the adjoining outbuilding to the north were built in the early 19th century, with some remains from the 17th century and earlier. The farmhouse features a combination of brick and timber-framing, topped with a concrete tile roof, while the outbuilding has a clay tile roof. The newest section of the farmhouse, located on the right, is two storeys high and consists of two bays. The windows are timber casements, with segmental heads on the ground floor. There is a door situated between the bays. To the left, there is one bay of timber-framing with brick infill, which is a single storey with an attic that has a dormer for lighting. A door is located to the right of this section. The outbuilding on the left has a wide doorway on the right side and a dormer above it. The front wall of the outbuilding is made of brick, with some timber framing visible. A chimney is positioned on the left side of the two-storey part of the farmhouse. An exposed cruck truss can be seen in the left gable wall, and there is a second exposed cruck truss in a rear wing of the house. The interior was not accessible during the survey conducted in June 1986.
