Description
This is a bridge over the Birmingham and Worcester Canal, known as No 69, located at Lea End Lane in Hopwood. It was built around 1807 and has undergone some repairs in the late 20th century. The structure is made of brick and sandstone ashlar. The canal runs in a deep cutting, which allows for a large semi-circular arch made of ashlar, featuring a keystone. Above the arch, there is a brick parapet with stone coping. Although the parapet has been partly rebuilt, the bridge is noted for its impressive size and quality.
