Description
Bridge Number 55 on the Worcester and Birmingham Canal is a canal bridge built around 1805, with some repairs made in the late 19th century and mid-20th century. The bridge is constructed of brick and features stone copings. It has a semi-elliptical arch with a band above, a plain stone-coped parapet, and a pilaster at each end. The responds have been partially repaired with blue brick, as has the parapet. The bridge has the number incised in a stone block set over the arch. This structure is included for its group value.
