Description

Dial House and Dial House Farmhouse is a farmhouse that has been converted into two houses. It was likely built around 1681, with extensions added in 1771 and during the 1930s, along with some alterations in the late 20th century. The building is made of rendered sandstone ashlar and has a tiled roof. It features a T-plan layout, with a cross-wing that runs east to west; the western section dates from the 17th century, while the eastern section is from the 1930s. There is an additional wing that extends to the north, which is also probably from the 17th century.

The west front has one storey with an attic, which is illuminated by a gable-end casement and a hipped dormer on the left. The stone coped verge is topped with a cube sundial, set at a diamond angle, featuring a brass gnomon. The entrance is located on the north front. There is a datestone under the render that is reported to read either 1631 or 1681, and another datestone from 1771 can be found on the lintel of the fireplace, which is situated in the north-east corner.
