Description

The Priest's House is a house rebuilt in the early 19th century, with alterations and additions made in the mid- to late-20th century. It is constructed of brick with plain tiled two-span roofs, and features brick end and rear stacks. The building is two storeys with an attic and cellar, and has a dentilled eaves cornice in places. It has five bays, with windows having cambered heads and moulded architraves. Most windows are 12-pane sashes, except for the fifth bay, which has a 20-pane sash on the ground floor and a 16-pane sash above. A window on the first floor of the fourth bay is blind, and beneath it is the main entrance; this has a swept lead canopy supported by slender turned posts, a moulded architrave, and a pair of half-glazed double doors. An attic light is present in the left gable end. A single-storey wing to the right-hand end has two 12-pane sashes with cambered heads. Inside, a room to the rear right of the ground floor has Greek key plaster decoration on the ceiling and a Delft-tiled fireplace. A 20th-century addition is located to the left end of the rear range.
