Description

This building is a warehouse that has been converted into workshops, located about 75 meters southwest of the south porch of Tardebigge Tunnel. It was built in the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the mid-19th century. The structure is made of sandstone ashlar and features a low-pitched slate roof. The gable end facing the canal has a moulded stone cornice and a stone coped verge above a central vertical opening, which was originally a loft door but is now blocked. Below this is a three-light casement window. There is a 20th-century lean-to on the west side, which is not of special architectural interest and obscures the ground floor. This building is a notable example of a canal-side warehouse that was constructed around the same time as the canal and is situated in a prominent location near the south portal of Tardebigge Tunnel.
