Entrance gates, canopy, and flanking lodges. 1880s. Brick with ashlar dressings; cast- and wrought-iron; slate roof. Elliptical-arched gabled canopy over 2 pairs of gates, the outer ones narrow; central cast-iron gate pier; lodges articulated with 2-bay round-arched blind arcades on blue brick plinths with imposts, keys and hood moulds; cornices; entrance to left of gateway has plain lintel; canopy has enriched wrought-iron grille with falcon and hop crest and lettering: M & B SPRINGFIELD BREWERY; turned wooden finial to moulded bargeboards. Gates have decorative finials and friezes; outer gates plain; gate pier has lantern; cast-iron blocks to angles. Returns to lodges have sill and lintel bands, that to left has girder for lintel and inner screen with 8-pane sashes and half-glazed door.
