Description

Numbers 14 and 15 are a pair of houses with attached workshops located on the north and west sides of a yard at the rear. They date from the early to mid-19th century and are constructed of brick in Flemish bond with a tile roof. The buildings are two storeys high and consist of three bays. The ground floor windows feature 20th-century frames and stucco lintels with false chamfered voussoirs. The first-floor windows, which are now boarded over, are sashed. The doorways between the bays have round heads with cast iron fanlights, and there is a brick dentil course along the eaves. The gables are coped and topped with chimneys.

The rear yard contains workshops on the north and west sides. The northern workshop is a single storey with a monopitch tile roof and has an almost continuous row of windows with glazing bars, some of which open as casements, along with a door and chimney to the right. The western workshop is smaller and also single storey. These workshops are noted to be depicted on Beckett's map of 1838 and are discussed in the thesis "Early Industrial Workshops in Walsall and Willenhall" by SP Wrathmell, published by Manchester University School of Architecture in 1977.
