Description
No. 33 Market Place is a Grade II listed building, originally built as a house and now used as offices. It dates from the mid-18th century and is constructed of brick in Flemish bond, featuring some painted stone dressings and a slate roof. The building stands three storeys high and has four bays. The windows are sash style with stone sills, and the first-floor lintels are adorned with chamfered false voussoirs and fluted keystones. The timber doorcase located in the third bay is topped with a pediment supported by consoles. The exterior includes a gutter cornice and coped gables with chimneys.
Inside, there is an open-well staircase with an open string, turned balusters, and a ramped handrail. Several internal doors are made of oak and feature six raised and fielded panels.
