Limbrick Wood School (Junior Block)

Limbrick Wood School (Junior Block) is a primary school built between 1951 and 1952 by the Ministry of Education and Coventry City Architects Department. It features an aluminium frame and corrugated aluminium panel construction, based on the Bristol Aeroplane Company's school building system but adapted to a grid plan. The design includes low pitched roofs and an irregular picturesque grouping.

The central assembly hall is double height and provides access to four pairs of lower, single-storey classroom blocks, along with kitchen and dining areas. The classrooms are arranged to create open courtyards around the perimeter. Large strip windows with aluminium frames and painted aluminium panels below enhance the building's design. This school serves as a prototype that developed the BAC's system to offer greater flexibility in its layout.
