Description

The building is a school block located to the southeast of the main block at Woodlands School, constructed between 1952 and 1957. It was designed by the City Architects Department in collaboration with the Ministry of Education Development Group. The structure utilizes the Hills 3'4" system, featuring a steel frame with precast concrete panels and a flat roof with a prominent roof slab. It has an irregular 'L' shape and consists of one storey, characterized by extensive glazing arranged in horizontal bands. The windows are made of painted metal frames with plate glass.

This block is an integral part of the Woodlands School complex, which includes the Main Block, Workshop, Science Block, Arts and Crafts Block, Gymnasium Block, two additional gymnasia, three further teaching blocks, and four additional house blocks, along with a cycle store to the east. Woodlands School was an experimental design project and is recognized as an early example of a purpose-built comprehensive school.
