Description
Two cranes are located at the east and west ends of the basin at the head of Farmers Bridge Locks. These early 19th-century canal wharf cranes have been reset on James Brindley Walk and are situated outside the Longboat Public House. Each crane features a pivoting timber gallows supported by iron brackets. Additionally, there is a large cast iron chain drive wheel on the side of the hub and a hand winch at the base.
