Description
The building is a coach house or garage located south of Number 172 on Oak Tree Lane in Bournville, constructed around 1908 by W Alexander Harvey for G. H. Archibald as part of the Bournville Estate. It is built from English bond brick and features a gabled clay plain tile roof. The structure is square in plan with an entrance on the north side and is designed in a Domestic Revival style.
The exterior is single storey with a loft, showcasing a cross-gabled roof adorned with a brick stringcourse and pigeon-holes in the gables. The corners of the building are recessed, and there is a round arch coach house entrance on the north side, which has chamfered jambs, recessed arch-rings, and partly glazed double doors. On both the east and west sides, there are three tight windows with leaded panes and cambered arches. Atop the roof, there is a timber-framed louvred lantern with a pyramidal tiled roof and a wrought-iron weathervane.
Inside, the walls and ceiling are lined with matchboarding.
