Main Block To Hallfield School

The main block of Hallfield School, located at No. 50 Church Road in Edgbaston, dates from around 1850. It is constructed of stucco and features a slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has five bays. A rusticated porch with a round-arched entrance is framed by coupled pilasters that support an entablature and parapet. There are two round-arched windows on the sides of the porch. To the right, there is a single-storey forebuilding that also has round-arched windows, with service accommodation located behind a projecting forecourt wall made of coursed stucco, which curves towards the coach house. On the ground floor to the left, there is a blank window in a moulded surround. The first floor has five windows, each in moulded surrounds with splayed feet. The eaves feature an entablature with a frieze of rosette panels.
