Description

The Dell is a Grade II listed building located at No. 15 Westbourne Road in Edgbaston, dating from around 1880. This red brick house features a tiled roof and is designed in a style reminiscent of Norman Shaw. It stands three storeys tall with an asymmetrical facade.

The entrance is marked by a solid white porch supported by coupled pilasters and topped with a segmental pediment. Behind the porch, there is a projecting gable that includes two first-floor segment-headed sash windows and a second-floor window that is elaborately framed, complete with a gablet adorned with foliage. To the left, there is a large chimney breast with a ribbed stack and a modern ground-floor segment-headed window.

On the right side, a projecting wing has a hipped roof and features a ground-floor canted bay window. Above, there are two first-floor segment-headed sash windows and a hipped dormer window with a panel of foliage beneath it. The central bay includes two ground-floor segment-headed sash windows and one first-floor segment-headed sash window, along with a dormer window that has a triangular pargetted and dentilled pediment. The garden front showcases two large canted bay windows of varying sizes.
