Description

This is a circa 1840 row of pairs of two-storey, two-bay houses located on Church Road in Moseley. The houses are built of warm red brick with low-pitch gable end slate roofs and plain brick chimney stacks. The pairs are slightly stepped, with a gentle slope to the elevation. Numbers 108 to 114 feature round-headed doorways centrally located, with matching round-headed windows above. Numbers 116 and 118 have round-headed windows and doorways in their outer bays. All windows retain glazing bar sashes, radiating to rounded heads, with gauged flat rubber brick arches and stucco block sills. Around 1860-70, a canted bay window with arched lights was inserted into the ground floor of number 116. The doorways have panelled flanking pilasters, archivolt arches, panelled reveals and soffits, leading to four-panel doors and fanlights. Plain impost bands are present on the gauged brick outer arches.
