Description
The Golden Lion Inn (Memorial) is a building likely dating from the early 16th century that has been restored and re-erected. It features a timber-framed structure with plastered infill, while the ground floor is faced in brick. The building has two storeys and a gable end tiled roof. On the first floor, there are three leaded casement windows from the early 18th century, along with two original unglazed wing lights. The ground floor showcases exposed storey posts with heavy console brackets that support the first floor. There are also two restored early 18th-century bay windows with leaded lights and pent tiled roofs, as well as two later ledged doors. The building has three gables with curved bases to the studding and plain bargeboards. An 18th-century painted inn sign is present, and the west elevation features an open restored timber gallery above a modern brick pier loggia.
