Description

Number 247, along with the screen walls, gates, and gatepiers, is a lodge built around 1840-1850 for Parkgrove School. It is a single-storey structure with three bays, featuring a stucco exterior and a hipped slate roof with flat eaves. The windows and doorway are framed by Egyptian eared architraves. The screen walls and gatepiers, which are positioned at right angles across the drive entrance, are also made of stucco. They include pedestrian gates on either side of the carriage gates, and tall gate piers topped with ball finials.
