Description
The Old Manor House is a circa 16th century timber-framed cottage with a late 17th century sandstone ashlar addition to the west. It is part of a larger L-shaped house, with the eastern section and east gable of the main front facing onto New Street dating back to the circa 16th century. This older portion is timber-framed with painted brick infill panels, set on sandstone foundations, and features a single storey and attic layout. It has a steeply pitched plain tile roof with gabled ends. The sandstone ashlar front, dating from circa the end of the 17th century, incorporates quoins and a stringband, along with a plain eaves cornice. This section is also characterized by a steeply pitched plain tile roof with hipped ends, and two storeys. It features three-light casement windows within simple moulded stone surrounds, as well as three brick chimney stacks.
