Description

This is a circa 17th century timber-framed cottage range, largely concealed behind later brick and render. Timber framing is visible on the front of number 6. The building sits on sandstone foundations and has a steeply pitched plain tile roof with gabled ends. It is one storey high with an attic. The front of the building has four modern doors and six two-light casement windows. There are modern additions including a lean-to enclosed porch to number 4, a flat-hood over number 6, and a gabled open porch to number 8. Five gabled dormers are set into the eaves, each containing a two-light casement. Four brick chimney stacks rise from the roof ridge. A later outshut, built of rendered brick with a hipped plain tile roof and a two-light casement window, is located at the north gable of number 2.
