Description

No 19 is a house located on the north side of High Street in Cubbington, dating from around the 17th century, with a cross-wing at the west and an 18th century range at right angles. The building has an L-shaped plan. The 17th century section is timber-framed, faced with 18th century red brick at the front, while the rear retains exposed timber-framing, some wattle and daub, and mainly red brick infill panels. It features a sandstone plinth and a steeply pitched plain tile roof with gabled ends to the north and south, along with brick ridge chimney stacks at the gable ends.

The house is two storeys high, with one two-light 18th/19th century casement window at the front and three two-light casements at the rear, all featuring glazing bars. The 18th century portion is built of red brick and has a modillion brick eaves cornice, with a similarly steeply pitched plain tile roof and a brick ridge chimney stack at the east gable. The entrance includes a six flush panel door, with a window to the right that has a rusticated lintel and 20th century casements. On the first floor, there are three segmental headed windows, one of which is blocked, another featuring an 18th/19th century two-light casement with glazing bars, and the last with 20th century casements.
